The state’s first biodiversity park, founded at a cost of Rs 1 crore at Bhulah in the Janjehli valley of Mandi district, will establish to be a boon for analysis as well as for conservation of endangered Himalayan herbs.

The park, the foundation stone for which was laid about a calendar year back, will also be a particular attraction for travelers from throughout the globe.

The park, envisioned to be thrown open in a handful of months, has been developed under the Countrywide Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) task of the HP Forest Division. This is the very first park in the state that will concentration on conservation of endangered herbs.

A nursery to conserve endangered herbs has been established up for exhibit in the park. In this nursery, Trillidium Govanianum (Nagchhatri), Dhoop, Picrorhiza kurroa (Kadu), Sarpagandha, Swerlia Chiryita (Chirayita), Barbari, Angelica glauca (Chaura), Coleus gromalicus (Pathanbel), Pathar chata, Selinum vaginatum (Bhutkesi), Nyar, Valeriana Wallichi (Mushkwala), Thymus Linearis (Van Ajwain), Kuth, Acorus Calamus (Barre), Asparagus (Sansarpali), Potentilla Nepalensis (Dori Ghass), Ratan Jot, Aconitum heterophyllum (Atish Patish), Padophyllumhexandrum (Van Kakdi), Dioscorea delloidea (Shingli Mingli), Jangli Lahsun and Adiantum lunulatum (Dungtuli) will be exhibited.

Other than, a fenced park has been created on five hectares and has several standard features. Amphitheaters have also been constructed for the benefit of researchers and holidaymakers checking out the nursery. Aside from this, two log huts, h2o harvesting framework, inner tank, 5 KW electric power generation task, chook nest, foot-bridge and sales centre have been established up.

Two tree-huts have also been prepared in the park for travelers, from where they can appreciate a picturesque check out of the park. Mother nature trails of about two km, 25-feet-large and 160-meter-prolonged tree-stroll and 7 foot bridges are the other attractions.
